Pleasurewood

An antiquated theme park sits in the East of the UK where Exotica and Kitsch rub shoulders with heart attack inducing sudden drops into the void. This is the place where Pleasurewood’s Paul Elliott and Dan Smith draw their name from.

The pair compose and produce a cinematic funk-o-rama of French inspired 60’s and 70’s gauche TV beats and 70’s and 80’s Simla beat Mumbai synth rock featuring their aladdin’s cave of vintage weird and wonderful instruments that take turns to step across the stereo field.

Following their well-received 2023 debut album They Live and their 2024 tribute EP to Rod Temperton Heatwaves, the duo return with their second full-length album. Released on 2 October, Electric Telepathy leans deeper into their love of vintage Hindi cinema soundtracks with a sweep of Simla Space Funk, Psych-Library and Outernational Pop grooves.
